Pearl Jam is proving that the band is still alive — and not just through a stream of news, but through a huge amount of news. The grunge pioneers announced on Tuesday (February 13) that they will soon release their 12th studio album. dark matter, and released its title track to celebrate the news. Hours later, the Seattle band revealed that they would also be touring the world in support of the release.
Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Mike McCreedy and Matt Cameron are set to begin their Dark Matter world tour on May 4 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, and will play on the West Coast for the rest of the month. I plan to head to Europe in June, return home in July, and return to the United States in late August. The tour concludes with performances in New Zealand and Australia in November. By the end of the tour, the band will have played in 25 cities in nine countries.
Pearl Jam will be performing a variety of acts on different legs of the tour. The Pixies, Deep Sea Diver, The Murder Capital and Richard Ashcroft have been announced as opening members.
Ticketmaster will host a pre-sale exclusively for Ten Club members through Ticketmaster Requests. Only fans who are already active members by February 12th can participate in the presale. Fans have until the end of Sunday, February 18th to register for a chance to participate in the registration sale at shops.ticketmasterpartners.com/pearl-jam. Registration does not guarantee access to ticket sales.
