Samsung Electronics celebrated World Water Day on March 22, with 44,000 employees, local governments, NGOs, and local residents participating in various water conservation activities at 22 business locations around the world. World Water Day, observed by the United Nations, reminds us that access to water is a human right and focuses on efforts to combat water scarcity and pollution.
Since 2006, Samsung has held numerous events involving employees and the local community. This includes river cleaning around the workplace, water conservation campaigns, etc. In line with this year’s World Water Day theme, “Using Water for Peace,” Samsung has organized special activities such as providing drinking water assistance to people in need and water conservation education to the general public.
“On World Water Day, Samsung Electronics executives and employees will participate in water conservation activities to highlight the importance of clean water,” said Junhwa Lee, Vice President of Global EHS, Device Experience (DX) Division, Samsung Electronics. I will take time to think carefully about it.” “We must continue to work to ensure that future generations have access to clean water.”
