Before India was spoiled for choice with so many homegrown tech influencers on Instagram, it had Rajiv Makhni on NDTV. India’s original Tech Guru, who is synonymous with this channel, is a TV and radio show host as well as an author with millions of followers on his social media platforms.
Interestingly, Makhni doesn’t like the term influencer at all. “I call myself an uninfluencer because I know what not to buy, what is a trick, what is bad, what is just marketing hype and what is not. Because I think we’re telling people more about whether that actually doesn’t work. I think that’s what people are thinking at this very moment.” Brand marketing has always been at the highest level, and everything is about “the next big thing.” ”, so they are too tempted by technology. “The next phone is God’s phone, the next laptop is something that has never been made before. Everything is overhyped and people are spending too much money on technology. I think in the world of tech influencers, every product gets attention.” “Wow” everything is out of the box and “the best thing that’s ever been done.” And I think that’s what causes a lot of problems. People save a lot, they work hard, and then when they buy the product, they’re just disappointed,” Makhni explained.
But when did his passion for technology begin? When Makuni was three years old, his father traveled to Singapore and bought him a state-of-the-art remote control car. He opened the toy not because he wanted to play with it, but to find out what was going on and how it worked. From then on, it became his life. Makhni had a wide fan base and he recalled several episodes. “I was at the airport about four months ago, and there was a woman who was probably about 70 years old. She came up to me and said, ‘I hate you.'” She watched my video. I bought a cell phone and it turned out to be an absolutely terrible cell phone. It happened to be one of those cases where it was a good brand and phone, but I received a bad product. I spoke to the brand. , had her phone replaced and she was very happy with it. After a few seconds, some followers said she was only 7 years old. That’s when he realized that technology was becoming a very interesting space. Today, people of all ages, regardless of gender or class, have strong opinions about what they want to do, what they want to buy, and how they use that technology.” Makhni said.
But the moment that really got fans excited was in a hotel urinal. While running errands, a man next to her took a selfie with Makhni. Thankfully, the angle wasn’t too bad, Makhni said.
