If Bronny James does indeed enter the NBA Draft later this year, his decision will not be based on his specific draft position.
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Saturday night that Bronny, the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, has a low draft ranking. He said he would consider entering the draft based on interest from specific teams.
“I don’t value young players being in the lottery as much as getting them into the right team with the right development situation,” Paul said.
That may sound like Paul is trying to get Bronny to join the Lakers so he can play with his father before he retires, but Paul says, “LeBron wants Bronny to be his own man.” “There is,” he claimed. But LeBron would be “super excited” if it happened naturally.
Bronny is nearing the end of his freshman season at USC, averaging 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in about 20 minutes per game.
