Nominations for the 2024 EY Entrepreneur of the Year program are now officially open. The program is centered around the theme of “Trailblazers,” true leaders who have the courage and ability to push traditional limits and limits, chart and follow their own path.
Entrepreneurs from start-ups, established companies and international companies operating in all industrial sectors on the island are invited to submit nominations until February 29th.
And the ultimate goal is to follow in the illustrious footsteps of many of Northern Ireland’s past winners, with participants typically punching above their weight in this long-established global endeavor.
Just two years ago, Martin McKay, who founded Texthelp, an Antrim-based company developing support software for people with dyslexia, in 1996, was named EY overall Entrepreneur of the Year and last year won Belfast’s Green Tech. Dr. Andrew Woods, founder of the company Catagen, said: won the sustainability category.
Rob Heron, Partner Lead, EY Entrepreneur of the Year for Northern Ireland, said:
“Now in its 27th year, the program exists to celebrate, promote and inspire entrepreneurship across the island.
“This year we celebrate pioneering entrepreneurs who are spearheading great businesses that are contributing to the growth of Northern Ireland’s economy and local communities.”
He added: “Northern Ireland’s entrepreneurs continue to have a disproportionate global influence, reflecting their international scale mindset and innate ability to grow and succeed across borders and cultures.
“One of the greatest strengths of the island of Ireland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is its diverse composition. This is why we actively seek and encourage nominations from entrepreneurs of all ages, industries and locations. I am.”
Some of the finalists will be selected for this year’s program and will take part in a 10-month strategic growth program, including a week-long training camp in South Africa.
They will also be welcomed into the highly regarded EY Entrepreneur of the Year alumni community.
We are made up of over 600 entrepreneurs representing some of the best business minds from across the island of Ireland. Together these companies employ over 250,000 people and generate revenues of over £20bn.
