In Massaro’s honor, the food bank has established the Maureen Sheehan Massaro Partner Agency Support Fund. The fund was established to honor her and her “vital role” in the organization’s transition to a locally owned and governed nonprofit organization in 2020.
The fund will support the food bank’s 60 partner institutions, from which they will have the opportunity to apply for grants to pay for costs such as equipment, capacity-building resources, or specific food requirements.
“Maureen’s leadership and commitment to our cause has been truly inspiring. We are grateful for her tireless efforts to advance our mission. This fund is a lasting tribute to her accomplishments. This will enable us to serve our community more effectively,” said Executive Director Andy Irick.
The food bank is accepting donations to support the new fund. The anonymous donor has pledged a matching gift of $25,000. Donations can be made online at theshfb.org/donate or by mail to Second Harvest Food Bank 20 N. Murray St. Springfield, OH 45503. Please indicate that your donation is for the Maureen Sheehan Massaro Partner Agency Assistance Fund.
