Seneca Falls DRI Building Improvement Fund Round 2 Public Information Meeting Set for February 28, 2024
The Seneca Falls Development Corporation (SFDC) will host a public information session regarding available grant opportunities for downtown building owners. As part of DRI’s Downtown Building Improvement Fund, SFDC plans to reallocate his more than $350,000 in remaining DRI funds through the second round of this program.
This meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 28th at 6pm in the large community room of the Seneca Falls Community Center located at 35 Water Street.
SFDC received funding from New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) to support the program’s second round of applications. SFDC will award DRI building improvement grants of up to $100,000 per building, not to exceed 50% (75% if the project is for a nonprofit organization) of the total cost of an eligible project.
Complete program details are provided within the Building Improvement Fund application available at http://senecafallsdri.com.
“We have over $350,000 in funds available to reallocate to the downtown area, so we encourage all interested property owners within the DRI boundaries to participate,” said SFDC Director Greg Zellers said. “Interested parties do not have to wait for an information session to begin the application process; in fact, we are encouraging an early start to help applicants overcome hurdles ahead of the April 5 deadline. I am.”
Building renovation funds can be used to renovate facades, storefronts and commercial interiors, with additional funding available per building if there is a residential component on the upper floors. Additional funding is available up to $25,000 for projects that produce at least one or two housing units and up to $50,000 for projects that produce at least three or more housing units. The maximum prize amount is $150,000.
Those who are unable to attend the public meeting in person will be able to participate via Zoom video conference by registering for access at http://senecafallsdri.com/register.
