Six current and former Utes players compete in FIS Nordic Junior World Championships and U-23 Championships

• Two-time All-RMISA Second Team honoree (2022, 2023).
• Earned his first NCAA All-America award in 2023 (10K freestyle).
• During the 2023 collegiate season, he started all 14 races, posting six top-five finishes and four podium finishes.
• All five of his collegiate starts in 2024 have been top-10 finishes, including a top-five finish in the classic sprint on Jan. 7.

Zachary Jayne – USA – World Junior Championship

• After spending the 2023 collegiate season at the College of St. Scholastica, Jayne joined the Utes as they qualified for the NCAA Championship.
• He has started all five RMISA races for the Utes this season, including the last three races where he finished in the top 15.
• At St. Scholastica College, he had five top-five finishes and three podiums.
• He won the NCAA Central Region 20K Classic and placed third in the 10K freestyle.

Nobby McCabe – USA – U-23 World Championship

• He skied three seasons (2021-23) with the Utes, winning 19 races, including his last five starts.
• She swept the 2023 NCAA Women’s Nordic Individual Championship and also won the 5K Classic in 2022.
• A six-time NCAA All-American, he earned honors in each start at the NCAA Championships.
• He will represent the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
• Named USCSCA National Female Nordic Skier of the Year (2022) and RMISA Women’s Freestyle MVP (2023).
• At the 2023 U-23 World Championships, he participated in three competitions, including a 7th place finish in the 10K freestyle.

nina shamburger – USA – World Junior Championship

• The true freshman joined the Utah Ski Team this season after competing at the Summit Nordic Ski Club in Colorado.
• He finished in the top 10 in all four of his starts as a Ute, including a junior podium finish in the freestyle sprint at the U.S. Nationals.
• He competed in two matches at the 2023 World Junior Championships and finished in the top 20 in the classic sprint.
