Jan. 5 (UPI) — The US government is offering a reward of up to $10 million to anyone with information about Hamas’s major financiers.
The State Department’s Judicial Compensation Program announced on Friday that Hamas financial intermediaries Abdelbassit Hamza Elhassan Khair, Amer Kamal Sharif al-Shawa, Ahmed Sadou Jareb, and Walid Mohamed Mustafa Jadara announced that it is seeking information regarding Mr. Muhammad Ahmad Abd al-Daim Nasrallah.

Mr. Kadir, also known as “Hamza,” is a Sudan-based financier who controls a number of companies in Hamas’ investment portfolio and previously sent money directly to Hamas’s senior financial officer, Mahir Jawad Younis. He was involved in the transfer of approximately $20 million to Hamas, including funds that were transferred to Hamas. Salah said, according to the State Department.
Hamza’s network includes Sudan-based Al Rowad Real Estate Development, which the U.S. Treasury Department designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist Organization in May 2022. Hamza also has long-standing funding relationships with al-Qaeda in Sudan and Osama bin Laden-affiliated companies. .
According to the State Department, Alshawa, Jahreb, and Jadara are all part of Hamas’ investment network in Turkey.
Mr. Alshawa is the CEO of Turkish foreign company Trend GYO and has served on the boards of several Hamas investment portfolio companies.
Jareb is Hamas’s investment portfolio chief, coordinating various activities of Hamas-affiliated companies and Hamas affiliates.
Jadara serves on the boards of several investment portfolio companies.
Mr. Nasrallah is a longtime Hamas operative with ties to Iranian organizations. The State Department said he was involved in transferring tens of millions of dollars, including to the military wing of Hamas.
In October, the U.S. Treasury Department listed all five financiers as specially designated global terrorists.
The State Department said it would offer a reward for information that leads to the identification and disruption of:
- Hamas’s source of income
- Hamas major donor or financial promoter
- Financial institutions or exchange offices that facilitate Hamas transactions
- Businesses or investments owned by Hamas or its financiers
- Front companies engaged in international procurement of dual-use technology on behalf of Hamas
- A criminal scheme involving Hamas members or supporters that provides economic benefit to the organization
