ladder construction is a diverse picture book and online curriculum publishing platform with a mission to empower over 1 million children to become social entrepreneurs. Our current series features interplanetary journalist Spiffy’s interviews with inspiring social entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship ecosystem builders and changemakers driving the United Nations SDGs forward.
Here’s the scoop on the planet’s entrepreneurial leaders. As the only interplanetary journalist stationed on this blue planet, I’m excited to present this galaxy-only article with Stephanie Kelly, head of Red Wheel’s sustainability ecosystem, Green Wheel. Learn what’s going on there and how Stephanie is positively impacting the world.
Spicy: Welcome to the blog, Stephanie! What challenges are you addressing through Greenwheel?
Stephanie: Thank you for having me, Suppy! Greenwheel is a research team focused on how to make sustainable investments for the future. We look at environmental and social challenges and opportunities around the world and work with our investment teams to invest in these things. This includes technologies to combat climate change, how companies should think about human rights in business, and many more sustainability-related investment ideas.
Spicy: What is your motivation for doing that?
Stephanie: After studying economics and politics at university, I fell in love with investing. Some of the best things in life are not planned. I’ve been working in investing, and in particular sustainable investing, because of the huge opportunity to help people get a good retirement, and to ensure that the world they retire in is one that won’t be destroyed by climate change. Because I sincerely believe that. I am truly passionate about building a better future and it takes determination and investment.
Spicy: That’s very moving! What do you think is the impact of your work?
Stephanie: My job is to directly support clients by educating investors about sustainability issues that may impact their future pensions and savings. My work also supports my work by collaborating with my amazing team to identify climate change solutions, better human rights practices, biodiversity solutions, and ways to sustainably develop poor countries and communities. We hope that it will have an impact on the wider world.
Spicy: Please tell us about some recent milestones/initiatives by Greenwheel. How does it impact your community?
Stephanie: We recently launched four sustainable investment strategies. I am very much looking forward. These focus on investing in a clean economy, biodiversity, life-changing healthcare for patients and sustainable development in emerging markets. We have put a lot of thought and effort into building these investment funds and are very proud of it. that.
Spicy: Congratulations! Is there anything else you would like to tell our viewers?
Stephanie: Some people think that finance jobs are all about money and power, but in my experience, most sustainable investing jobs are filled with people who are passionate about making the world a better place.
Spicy: Stephanie, thank you for speaking with me today, it was an honor!
