CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — In times of crisis, our nation’s firefighters are the first to respond, bravely risking their lives to protect our communities. But when these heroes and their families are in trouble, who will support them? That’s where the Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund steps in. Founded in 2022 as a 501(c)(3) charity, its mission is to provide support to active and retired firefighters, their families, and the broader firefighting community. I am. We are honored to be joined today by Board Chair Andy Quanstrom and Board Vice Chair Jason Rector to shed light on the Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund’s important work and upcoming fundraiser, Blazing Piano. I think so.
One of the Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund’s major initiatives is its annual fundraiser, “Blazing Piano.” The event not only serves as an opportunity to raise vital funds, but also unites the community in support of firefighters. Guests can expect an evening filled with lively entertainment, delicious food, and exciting auction items. All for a worthy cause. By joining Blazing Piano or contributing in any way, individuals can directly impact the lives of firefighters and their families and provide them with the resources they need during a difficult time.
