A property on West End Avenue near Interstate 440 that previously housed a convenience market has been sold for $2.1 million as the owners of two local Indian restaurants eye retail business.

The new owner of the approximately 3,025-square-foot retail building is Karoli Properties LLC, according to Davidson County deeds. The LLC is affiliated with the family that owns Taj Indian Restaurant and the Nashville store (Nolensville Road) of Chicago-based Asian grocery store chain Patel Brothers, including Mayur Patel.
The new owners could not be reached for comment.
The seller of the 0.26 acre property is located at 3410 West End Avenue Next door to the building that houses French restaurant Chateau West was GBT Realty, a Brentwood developer. GBT, which paid $1.806 million for the property in June 2018, has developed a nearby site with a mixed-use building. park westoffers hotel, retail and apartment space.
The new owners hope to operate a retail business other than a restaurant in the building, according to multiple anonymous sources, but details were not available.

Opened in 1977 and located near the intersection of West End and Murphy Road, this one-story building was last used for construction/staging work related to Park West. It once housed Mapco, but the underground oil tanks have long since been removed.
