Team Elite and Skyliners have been selected to represent Team USA at the 2024 ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships to be held March 15-16 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
The Team Elite selection comes on the heels of the team winning its first-ever U.S. Junior title at the 2024 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Skyliners won the silver medal, while Team Image and Lexets won the bronze and pewter medals, respectively.
“This is a testament to how hard we have worked,” said Abbi Nelson, who has been competing in Teams Elite for six years. “This team comes to practice 100 percent committed, 100 percent involved, and what we did every practice is what we did tonight. That’s just who we are.”
Both Team Elite and Skyliners have previous experience on the podium at the World Junior Championships. In 2022, the Skyliners won silver and Team Elite won bronze, making history for the first time two American teams won medals at the same World Championship. Skyliners, four-time world junior medalists, will compete as current world junior bronze medalists.

The Utopia-themed program with a score of 131.37 included his five elements at level 4, with each element giving him a performance grade of 1.54 or higher.
With a total score of 197.41, the Skyliners juniors have finished in the top three every year since 2015 at the national championships.
“After yesterday’s disappointment, we wanted to leave everything on the ice,” Jarvis said. “We didn’t want to worry about the other teams or the score or the standings. We just wanted to skate for ourselves and we loved it.”
Team Image, who stood on the podium for the third consecutive year, won the bronze medal with a free skate score of 121.00 and an overall score of 191.43. Their Arabian Queen of the Desert theme skate began with their strongest element: the intersection.
“It was absolutely amazing,” said Sophie Ryan, a fourth-year team image skater, of the team’s skating. “I’m so proud of what we’ve done and accomplished this season so far. It was just a surreal experience coming off the ice.”
The Lexets also gave a strong performance in their skate to Woodkid’s “Prologue,” starting with a well-executed move element. He went on to record a segment score of 117.50, finishing the competition with 183.98 points.
“I think the whole team was very proud of what we accomplished on the ice,” said Vivian Wang, who has been skating for the Lexets for two years. “I really felt the energy from each other and from the crowd. It was just amazing. is.”
