Starting February 12, the Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship (CWE) at Texas Woman’s University will launch the Veteran Women’s Entrepreneurship Grant Program, which supports women veterans who own or are interested in starting a business in Texas. We accept applications for
Five $5,000 grants (total grants of $25,000) will be awarded to eligible Texas women veterans who are starting or owning an existing business. This is her fourth year that CWE has offered this grant program specifically aimed at supporting female veteran entrepreneurs across Texas.
Completed online applications must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, March 15th. The recipient of the grant will be announced on April 2nd.
Grants may be used to purchase machinery, equipment, or technology. Obtain new inventory or raw materials. Purchase and install supplies and display units. Perform asset improvements. Market activities or other business-related activities consistent with program objectives.
Grants cannot be used for wages, salaries, or sales taxes.
Winners must meet with the center’s small business advisor or veteran mentor and complete a virtual training series hosted by the center to receive funding. This course covers topics related to business plan writing, insurance, marketing, legal affairs, accounting, and finance.
