Yahoo Finance has compiled a list of the largest publicly traded companies in each state and Washington, D.C., based on market capitalization as of 2023 and the location of the company’s headquarters.
Healthcare giants take the top spot
Healthcare is the most dominant sector among large U.S. companies, including Kentucky-based health insurance giant Humana (HUM) with $56.1 billion and Minnesota-based UnitedHealth (UNH) with $485.49 billion. Also included.
