When did you start your side hustle and what led to it?
My first listing on Sniffspot was in the spring of 2023. Sniffspot is used by dog trainers and dog owners who want a space for their dogs to run and play outside without having to go to a public dog park. There just isn’t enough time to fully enjoy it. I also wanted to teach young children the value of entrepreneurship and work. This is something they can participate in too. (Fun fact: My youngest son named our new puppy “Sniffspot” because they are having so much fun!)
Sniffspot was incredibly easy. Simply upload a photo of your garden, set an hourly rate, and include your location details, and the rest will be done automatically, allowing users to search for nearby spaces to rent by the hour.

Were there any challenges in maintaining your side hustle? If so, how did you navigate them?
Our biggest concern was our safety if we had strangers on our property and worrying about whether they would treat our backyard and grounds with respect. I’m sure you’ve heard horror stories about other short-term rental options, but for Sniffspot users, those fears were completely unfounded, so dog owners must be of a different breed. Everyone is overwhelmingly caring, respectful, considerate, and overall professional. How long did it take you to start earning consistent monthly income?
I made $1,500 on the spot in my first six months. In the second month, he earned $3,700. What do you enjoy most about your side job?
The revenue streams are great, but what I like most is that everyone is grateful and we have the opportunity to share our beautiful property. We fell in love with this piece and are so excited to share it. We are truly motivated by dog owners who know the love for dogs and what a difference it makes to their canine best friend. We serve the needs of the dog loving community.
Our guests love being able to play and train their dogs off-leash and say they really make memories with them. We always have guests who drive over 2 hours each way to get their dog to the sniff spot. Even recently, some people have driven more than six hours to get out of there.
We’ve heard stories of marriage proposals happening here, dates between dog lovers, dog birthday parties, dogs learning to swim, and anxious dogs coming back to life for the first time. These stories are what keep us here at Sniffspot. And it’s really, really rewarding.

Do you have any advice for people interested in this gig? What do you need to know before you start?
If they are considering gig economy or passive income for their space, Sniffspot is the best platform. It’s consistent, reliable, automatic, and has the best users.
