Purpose of the position
With minimal supervision, the Trade Marketing Manager will actively manage and develop within the national brand marketing team, developing plans and tools to meet the diverse needs of the business across all channels. Trade marketing managers work across channels and portfolios, exploring potential adjustments and streamlining systems, processes, and more. In addition, this role will lead the implementation and communication of brand activation program goals through both the internal sales team and distributor network. This role will be required to influence and provide input to sales and brand marketing within Delicato and at the distributor level, maintaining a two-way collaborative dialogue that emphasizes teamwork and achieving results.

• Create a prioritized trade marketing performance plan in line with company goals and objectives. Communicate clearly defined goals to key sales and distribution stakeholders.
• Develop, deliver, and present key brand objectives, priorities, and programs to (key markets) during distributor joint business planning meetings. Specifically, you will oversee the translation of regional communications and national brand programs into coordinated monthly execution priorities, providing sales and distributors with the information they need to successfully execute and communicate the programs.
• Thoroughly understand and maintain key customer programs within strategic account areas, independent off-premises and on-premises accounts, and proactively collaborate with sales.Lead the development of customized solutions to grow the business in each key account
• Monitor sales data and trends and have the ability to leverage data to build the story of the Delicato brand within presentations.
• Present and propose relevant marketing programs to customers, support meetings and follow up on selected key trade initiatives.Attend relevant customer events
• Work with internal marketing services and creative services teams to develop trade marketing program elements.
• Sourcing and securing external support for national tastings and demos, reducing costs and producing a more standardized experience.
• Monitor compliance of expenditures within project budgets set by regional sales, national accounts, brand and/or trade budgets.
• Foster cohesive, professional and collaborative relationships with Brand, Digital™.Our Marketing, Regional Sales, Domestic Trading, and Distribution Trading teams quickly follow up on incoming requests.
• In addition to leveraging existing brand marketing strategic partnerships, identify regional strategic partnerships as needed and focus on driving unique regional programs for key accounts.
• Lead the tactical execution of specific trade programs.
• Lead, facilitate, and conduct regional trade marketing calls and publish consistent communications regarding new and ongoing programs as part of trade marketing, national accounts, regional sales, and distribution trade team calls. Utilize calls to develop and coordinate regular input from key stakeholders on public relations materials, platforms, and overall communications.
• Participates in annual divisional sales meetings, global sales meetings, monthly marketing team meetings, weekly trade marketing team meetings and provides related presentation materials.

minimum requirements
education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related degree.
• MBA Plus
• 5+ years of experience in marketing and/or sales.
knowledge, skills and abilities
• Must have in-depth knowledge of on-chain, off-premises, and on-premises marketing strategies and tactics with special emphasis on key business drivers.
• Must have knowledge of 3-tier systems and customer needs
• Experience working with and managing distributor trade development teams to drive results across national and regional priority programs.
• Established persuasive selling skills and a proven track record of successfully negotiating and coordinating between internal departments and external distributor stakeholders.
• Proven experience in various types of brand building activities: POS items, events, programs, and retailer mind capture.
• Experience leveraging data from Nielsen and other sources.
• Experience developing and presenting presentations internally, in front of distributors, and customers.
• Experience managing brands and developing national and customized marketing programs across all channels of the business.
• Excellent budgeting, project management, analysis and reporting skills.
• Strong vendor relationships and ability to communicate and direct creative concepts.
• Experience and understanding of the three-tier wine distribution system.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a deadline-driven environment with high expectations and standards.
• Experience in sourcing and managing external vendors and agencies.
• Wine industry experience strongly preferred
