While on the campaign trail in Las Vegas, former President Trump voiced opposition to Congress’ efforts to broker an immigration deal as he continues to attack President Joe Biden on the explosives issue.
“As the leader of our party, there is no chance that I would support this horrific open border betrayal of America,” the former president told his supporters. “I will fight to the end. Many senators respectfully want to say it’s my fault.”

President Trump has long criticized Biden on immigration, arguing that the U.S.-Mexico border is dangerous given the record number of illegal immigrants entering the country, overwhelming enforcement agencies. Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court voted 5-4 to uphold the federal government’s authority to remove concertina wire along parts of the U.S.-Mexico border. But Mr. Abbott announced that Texas would install more wiring along the border.
