Sri Lanka defeated Zimbabwe by 39 points (DLS format)

Cole Eksteen supported that call with a wicket in the first over. Aneth Kamliwo removed another opener in the fourth over, leaving Sri Lanka in a precarious position.
The rebuild is well underway and the fourth wicket pair of Ravishan de Silva and Rusanado Gamage did the same. The duo added 54 runs in the next 21.1 overs, even as the young Chevrons bowled with discipline to prevent the advantage from swinging the other way.
Panashe Taluvinga hit the wicket of Gamage in the 26th over. He broke through the batsmen’s defense and grounded out over the middle stumps to put Zimbabwe back in the lead. Ryan Singhvi then reversed Ravishan de Silva in the 31st over to further increase their advantage.
Dinula Kalpahana batted with initiative and added important scores in the middle overs. He got good support from Sharjan Shanmuganathan and Sri Lanka added 72 to 80 runs for the sixth wicket. However, Zimbabwe’s innings collapsed when Kalpuhana fell to Schoenken. The Asian side lost with 204.
Sri Lanka counterattacked using their spin power. Vishwa Rahil scored just three runs in the opening four overs to give Sri Lanka his first breakthrough. Marcia Talpati backed up by producing the second wicket and took a sharp catch from Kalpahana to contribute to the third dismissal. Zimbabwe finished in 30th place after the match was canceled due to bad weather.
The referees removed the players from the field due to lightning, but rain fell soon after, causing a delay in overtime.
The match then resumed and Zimbabwe were set a revised target of 129 from 22 overs. Asked for more than 10 runs, Chevrons tried to hit the Sri Lankan bowlers out of the park and close in on the target. However, Sri Lanka’s disciplined work saw the African side bowled out in the 23rd over.
