Ampverse, the gaming community and IP ecosystem, has promoted co-founder and chief strategy officer Charlie Bailey to chief executive officer, the company said. Mr. Bailey will succeed Ferdinand Gutierrez, who previously served as the company’s CEO and is currently its president.
In his new role, Mr. Bailey will lead the company’s strategic direction and growth drivers and manage the executive team while reporting to the board of directors, he said in a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. Ta. This includes executing a strategy centered on building a world-leading gaming ecosystem across gaming and entertainment assets, marketing solutions, platforms and commerce products.
“As one of our co-founders and former chief strategy officer, Mr. Bailey is poised to lead Umbers to new heights,” Umbers said in a statement.

Prior to his promotion, Mr. Bailey served as the company’s chief strategy officer from August 2019 to January 2024.
Prior to working at Ampverse, Baillie served as RhythmOne’s APAC Commercial Vice President and then APAC Managing Director. In that role, he oversaw programmatic, influencer marketing, connected TV, creative product sales, marketing, client services and operations, according to LinkedIn.
Prior to this, Mr. Bailey served as Co-Chair of IAB Singapore’s Program Committee and a member of the IAB Content Committee.
Baillie has also worked for companies such as RadiumOne, which acquired RhythmOne, Beyond, Universal Music Group, and Urban Box Office.

This news was announced shortly after Ampverse acquired Singapore-based gaming startup Championify in September last year to accelerate the development of gaming technology solutions for brands, fans, gamers and game publishers.
Championify’s assets will be integrated into Ampverse Labs through the acquisition to accelerate the development of its products and services, the brand said in a statement. Championify’s technology and intellectual property assets include a proprietary gamification platform, reward system, and gaming product marketplace.
