Jack Fenn emigrated from New Zealand to pursue a medical degree at the University of Queensland and to maximize his ability to improve people’s lives.
After completing a pre-medical degree in health sciences, Jack is currently pursuing a degree centered on human well-being and is working with ilab, a company focused on workforce mental health, to accelerate AI startup MindMuse, and is expected to launch in 2020. We hope to support 10,000 people by 2020. He has taken on a new role as Principal Student Entrepreneur.
A dedicated member of the UQ Student Entrepreneurship community and former executive of the UQ Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (UQIES), Jack is a member of Aquila Co-Founder and CEO Billy Jeremijenko (Wireless Energy) from MindMuse I was inspired by my colleagues at UQIES, right down to my co-ownership. Founder Felix Hall (Computer Science) is an experienced entrepreneur and hackathon winner, including the 2022 Student Entrepreneur of the Year award.
MindMuse started with a coffee chat when Jack wasn’t feeling too well. Felix was able to introduce a peaceful state of mind through cognitive behavioral therapy practices such as asking questions such as: very good Questions to help you reflect on your thoughts.
“After this conversation, I knew I wanted to have this tool in my pocket 24/7,” said Jack.
“If I can do this, so many more people can too.
“I had friends who went to the emergency room with episodes, and I was frustrated by what they saw.
“MindMuse’s evidence-based AI chat functionality provides only 20% of what the platform offers.”
“MindMuse focuses on upstream capabilities that help managers understand and assess what is happening in the workplace. Our mission is to empower people to deal with everyday frustrations and annoyances before they snowball into major obstacles. I need to,” Jack said.
Jack wants people to think deeper and live longer by making their hearts fly. MindMuse has already been rated as one of the top 200 AI tools in the world by one of the world’s largest GenAI news companies. MindMuse is currently evaluating the availability of its platform to employers.
In 2023, Jack joined Ventures San Francisco Startup AdVenture hosted by Robert Quinn, CEO and Co-Founder of Sepsis Scout Inc, and is currently working remotely as a consultant.
Robert Quinn needed a liver transplant at age 21. After the transplant, he had his 18th repeat of sepsis. Sepsis is a condition that occurs when the body overreacts to a serious infection. That’s more than the annual national highway toll and deaths from some common cancers.
“Sepsis Scout leverages deep learning and off-the-shelf wearables to predict sepsis in high-risk patients. Robert taught me what you can do in life by helping others. was one of my mentors and I am very grateful to him for helping shape my perspective.
“From an early age, my father had an entrepreneurial spirit and founded several companies and became my role model who showed me the way.
“I am interested in how startups can be tools to create impact and value.”
Nimrod Kleiman, Head of Entrepreneurship, praised Jack’s contributions to the Ventures Network during a demanding school trip.
“Jack’s caring and proven leadership qualities will inspire new students to get involved in UQ’s entrepreneurial activities.”
