The first part of documents released Wednesday by a New York court explores the mysterious world of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his dealings with powerful people ranging from Wall Street figures to former President Bill Clinton. gave a new glimpse.
The document’s release, ordered by a judge last month after years spent sealed or redacted, was eagerly awaited by a public still hoping to understand the mystery of Epstein and the scope of his crimes. .
The first page is excerpted from the affidavits of women who say he abused them, providing rich details and first-person accounts. But they do not agree with the established story surrounding Epstein, who was found hanged in a New York jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges involving dozens of underage women. It didn’t seem to change. He was previously convicted of soliciting sex from a minor in Florida.
His longtime partner, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, was found guilty in December 2021 of helping Epstein procure girls and, in some cases, abuse them. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The documents emerged from a 2015 civil libel lawsuit filed against Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre, who has accused Epstein and others of years of abuse. Many of the allegations have been reported in the years since the lawsuit was filed, and more documents are expected to be released in the coming days.
As part of that lawsuit, Ms. Giuffre alleges in May 2016 that Mr. Maxwell was a member of former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, billionaire New York hedge fund manager Glenn Dubin, and Frenchman Jean-Luc.・She testified under oath that she ordered Mr. Brunel to provide sex acts. Model agency owner etc.
“When you say massage, you mean erotic, right? That’s what they say,” Giuffre told the lawyers, according to records.
Mr Richardson is now deceased, and Mr Brunel also died in a French prison while being investigated for rape and sexual abuse. Dubin, who is married to former Miss Sweden Eva Andersson-Dubin, who once dated Epstein, denied the allegations.
Giuffre said she was also asked to give a massage to Prince Andrew, who has repeatedly denied her claims. The affidavit included further details about the now-infamous photo of the royal’s arm wrapped around her waist. She said Epstein took the photos with a Kodak camera in March 2001 and then provided them to the FBI.
The documents also include sworn testimony from another Epstein accuser, Johanna Sjoberg, who said Prince Andrew had raped her breasts when she was 17 as part of a “joke” involving a doll playing Epstein. He said that he had misunderstood. spitting image, a British satirical television show. She said the incident took place at the late sex offender’s Manhattan residence.
Prince Andrew, who was forced to step back from royal duties amid the uproar surrounding the Epstein scandal, has previously denied all allegations of wrongdoing. He settled a separate lawsuit with Mr. Giuffre.
Mr. Sjoberg also mentioned Mr. Clinton in his deposition, claiming that Mr. Epstein told Ms. Clinton, “They like young people.” Mr. Giffley had previously claimed to have spent time with Mr. Clinton on Mr. Epstein’s private island, a claim refuted by the former FBI director and denied by Mr. Clinton.
Giuffre’s lawyers also petitioned the court to allow Giuffre to be removed from office, arguing that Clinton was a “key person” who could provide information about her close ties to Epstein. Their request was ultimately denied.
