The QGAME Global Portfolio Performance Competition ranks realized returns from all eligible student-managed fund applications, which require at least one year of actual performance history in real capital.
“This is the second time UWF has participated in the competition,” said Dr. KC Marr, Mary Ball Washington/Swiss Brothers Endowed Professor of Finance in UWF’s Lewis Baer Junior College of Business. . “Last year we won the top award in the fixed income category. Our investment strategy has been very successful. I am very proud of our students.”
The winning Argo Bond Fund portfolio, managed by the Argo Investments Program Class of 2023 and led by students Aaron Korel and Nicolas Mielke, has $1 million in assets under management. Funds can only be eligible to participate in the competition if the student manages real money funds through a university course.
Established in 2019, the Argo Bond Fund program provides students with real-world experience in managing funds. In 2020, the UWF Foundation Board of Directors approved the use of real money for students in the program to manage their funds.
Held each spring, financial professionals gather at the Quinnipiac University GAME Conference to share their knowledge, expertise, and vision for the future with graduate students, undergraduates, and faculty from universities around the world.
