The West End Auxiliary Children’s Fund will host the “Champions for Children – Seeds of Opportunity” Scholarship Dinner on March 2 at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel, 601 W. McKinley Ave. in Pomona.
The West End Auxiliary partners with the Children’s Fund to provide recreational and post-secondary education scholarships to children in need, and the scholarship dinner will raise funds to support these scholarships.
The West End Auxiliary donated $100,000 to the Children’s Fund last year, and the Auxiliary’s goal is to match that amount this year, according to a news release.
The event will include dinner, live and silent auctions, drawing opportunities, and music by the Swing Shift Band. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with cocktails served and a silent auction and viewing of raffle items.Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Live auction items include a seven-night stay for two in Cortona, Italy; mexican vacation. Newport Harbor Cruise for 10 people. and a party bus and wine tasting adventure.
At this event, the West End Auxiliary will present the Community Service Award to Henry D. Shannon, Superintendent and President of Chaffey College, and the Patron Award to Scott and Norma Grannis. Norma Grannis is a past president of the West End Auxiliary, and she and her husband continue to support the auxiliary by becoming annual sponsors, according to a news release.
