Finlay-Knox won his first world title in the 200IM at the Doha World Championships, becoming the first Canadian man to do so since 2007. Doha saw many backstroke swimmers hit the lane line during the race, but Mr Knox explained that backstroke swimmers were not necessarily swimming in a straight line because the ceiling was not straight.
Knox explains that he was lucky to land in lane 7 in the final. During the backstroke leg of the 200 IM, a column continued straight across the ceiling.
