Tuesday is World Contraception Day, an event started by Doris Day, an actress and singer from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. She founded Spy Day USA along with Doris Day and her Animal League.
The Lucy Pet Foundation has partnered with Rescue Train, a non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization, to spay and neuter approximately 30 animals.
The surgery will be performed by CNN’s Hero of the Year Dr. Kwan Stewart, known as the “Street Vet,” and Dr. Shadi Ileifei of VetTriage, who is flying in from Las Vegas for the event.
