Monday Recap – Trump makes a comeback and advances to the World Grand Prix last 16, Selby narrowly advances
At the World Grand Prix in Leicester on Monday, Judd Trump came from a two-frame deficit to beat Jamie Jones 4-2, while Mark Selby also advanced with a late-night victory.
Trump, who was trying to overcome the disappointment of losing to Ali Carter in the Masters semifinals, was made to work early by the feisty Jones.
He eventually found his way to victory and will now face Liu Haotian, who defeated Chris Wakelin 4-3.
Mark Selby then admitted he was lucky to have won his match against Yuan Sizhen, beating him 4-3 at midnight, only to draw with either Ali Carter or Wu Yize.
The four-time world champion led 3-1 but lost the next two frames and the deciding match lasted 41 minutes before clinching the victory.
