World Skateboard Tour: Dubai Street 2024 is currently being held at Dubai Port in the United Arab Emirates from March 3rd to 10th.
The World Skateboard Tour (WST) forms an important part of the ‘Road to Paris’ for park skateboarders and street skateboarders aiming to qualify for the Olympics, and the WST Dubai Street 2024 stop is a key part of that journey. This will be a turning point.
The event will be the last chance for skaters to earn Olympic World Skating Ranking (OWSR) points before the cut is made ahead of the second stage of qualification, the Olympic Qualification Series (OQS).
OQS is a two-part competition series held in Shanghai (May 16-19) and Budapest (June 20-23) that will determine the final field. Paris 2024.
Following Dubai, the top 44 qualified athletes by gender in OWSR will be invited to OQS according to the following principles:
- No more than 6 competitors per country, gender, and event (respecting OWSR order)
- At least one highest ranking athlete from each continent representing all continents
- At least one highest-ranked athlete is a national of France, host country of the 2024 Olympic Games.
- At least one top-eligible athlete who is a national of the OQS host country (People’s Republic of China and Hungary)
- At least one universality places qualified athletes.
