Some places also do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do stock reporting.
In this weekly series, we identify three superstars (or groups of superstars) on the rise and three superstars who are going in the opposite direction. After a busy week that saw CM Punk and Drew McIntyre talking about it on the mic, teasing the return of Pete Dunne, and Cody Rhodes finishing his talk with Shinsuke Nakamura, a lot of fortunes changed.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at whose stocks fell the most this week.
Stockdown #3: Otis
Bronson Reed, Ivor, and Ortiz are some of the meatiest guys who like to pound meat on Raw, but if Ortiz wants to pound meat at their level, he’s going to have to step up. This week’s loss to Ivar appears to be setup for Ivar to have another match with Akira Tozawa, which suggests that Ortiz is also currently at the bottom of the Alpha Academy rankings.
Stockdown #2: Piper Niven & Chelsea Green
Niven and Green lost a rematch for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. With other teams such as Kabuki Warriors and Alva Fire & Islay Dawn poised to take the gold medal, it looks like they will fall to last place.
Stock #1: Cameron Grimes
Grimes’ last match on SmackDown television was in mid-November, so it was initially a surprise that his match against Grayson Waller was scheduled for the highly anticipated opening segment of last night’s show. It turns out that Grimes was only there to sacrifice a lamb for his bloodline. Solo Chicor and Jim Uso brutally murdered Grimes during his entrance, reinforcing the idea that Cameron was a jabroni whose main purpose on the show was to get beaten up by everyone else.

Stockpile #3: DIY
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano said their New Year’s resolution is to win the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship this year. Ciampa got off to a good start toward achieving that goal by defeating Finn Balor in a singles match on Raw.
Stock #2: R-Truth
Truth did just that again this week on Raw, stealing the show with his “Live, Laugh, Love” video documenting his unbreakable bond with Judgment Day. His new merchandise seems to be selling at the top of his WWE charts, which shows there’s a lot more to come in this story.
Stock #1: Jinder Mahal
Often, when a part-timer like The Rock comes back to humiliate a lower or mid-tier heel on the card, it doesn’t improve that heel’s time. In Jinder Mahal’s case, his segment with The Rock on opening night has now led to a world championship match against Seth Rollins on the January 15 episode of Raw.
Former WWE Champion Mahal is a part-timer and hasn’t won a televised main roster match since 2022, so it’s doubtful he’ll actually have much of a chance of beating Rollins for gold. However, Jinder is currently in the news thanks to Tony Khan’s insanity on social media, so he could potentially use this exposure to stay relevant on WWE TV going forward.
Come on, cagesiders. Who do you think has had the biggest change in stock price this week?
