Some places also do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do stock reporting.
In this weekly series, we identify three superstars (or groups of superstars) on the rise and three superstars who are going in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included a special appearance from former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens winning the New Year’s Revolution tournament and becoming Logan Paul’s Royal Rumble opponent, Tyler Bate joins Pretty Deadly He was revealed as BUTCH’s mysterious partner in victory. Many destinies have changed.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at whose stocks fell the most this week.
Stockdown #3: Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre said in a recent promo that if he doesn’t beat Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on day one, all the sacrifices his family has made will be for nothing. Drew now has to accept the reality of those words. Because she nailed Rollins. Lowers him to the mat for a 3 count. McIntyre was protected in the sense that Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank contract shenanigans played a role in the finish, but the bottom line is this was a big moment for Drew and it’s over. Looking ahead, it seems unlikely that he will have a chance to win the Royal Rumble match and get another shot at this belt.
Stock Down #2: Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh
Judgment Day previously prided itself on being an equal group, but these days they have settled into a B-team role, as Dominic and JD lost all of their televised matches. With this week’s loss to Awesome Truth, Mysterio extended his winless streak on television since early November, and McDonough extended his streak without a win on television since early September.
Stockdown #1: Tegan Nox & Natalya
Now things are going in the wrong direction for Knox and Natalya. After losing a tag title match at the end of November, this week they lost to number one contenders Shayna Baszler & Zoe Stark, further pushing them further away from gold.

Stockup #3: Karrion Cross, AOP, Scarlett, Paul Ellering
Karrion Kross is looking to restart by creating a new stable. Business really picked up on that front when the Author of Pain and Paul Ellering joined Cross and Scarlett on SmackDown to assault Bob Lashley and the Street Profits. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time before Carrion’s constant shitty bookings happen again, but for now his new group is off to a strong start.
Stock #2: Nia Jax
Jax achieved one of the biggest victories of her WWE career on opening night when she once again brutally and bloodied Becky Lynch’s face, effectively dropping her way to victory against The Man. Jax currently stands out as the clear number one threat to Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.
Stock #1: The Rock
The Rock returned to WWE on opening day and appeared to be at the beginning of a program with Roman Reigns. Since then, there has been a lot of talk about whether the match will take place next month at Elimination Chamber in Australia or if it will be the main event of WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.
The truth of the matter is that everyone and everything in WWE is putting The Rock on the backburner because he is such a huge global star. If appearing on a show in Australia makes the most sense for his schedule and wallet, he will do it. If he wants the spotlight in the main event of WrestleMania, WWE will give it to him. The Rock will get whatever he wants from WWE, even if it means postponing the end of Cody Rhodes’ story to some other event that isn’t SummerSlam or WrestleMania 40.
Come on, cagesiders. Who do you think has had the biggest change in stock price this week?
