Yavapai College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Moonshot return to Yavapai County for the 2024 Moonshot Rural Pitch Tour, an entrepreneurial competition similar to ABC’s Shark Tank, as part of the fifth annual event series I am happy to announce that.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur with a moonshot startup idea or a seasoned founder with a business you want to scale, attending this event will help you develop your business skills and move your business forward. Helpful.

This year, Moonshot will visit 16 rural communities in Arizona.
Yavapai College SBDC works with entrepreneurs to support pitch events in Wickenburg (2/23), Seligman (3/27), Quad Cities (3/28), and Verde Valley (5/17) .
In addition to competing for cash prizes and moonshot scholarships, participants will also receive startup and pitch education, coaching, and pitch practice opportunities from Yavapai College SBDC’s expert team of certified business analysts. Free and confidential coaching and mentorship is provided at each event and continues after the pitch tour ends.
SBDC Certified Business Analyst Marie Platowski Beals has coached hundreds of Yavapai business owners, including the 2022 Statewide Moonshot Pitch Winner. “This is a great opportunity for any business owner to start a business or expand into a new market,” Platowski-Beals said. “Our team will be there for each participant during the tour and long after the tour ends.”
This competition continues to empower business owners and provide an opportunity to learn new skills
Participants will prepare, practice, and complete a five-minute pitch presentation to a panel of judges who will select the finalists. The winners of each regional event will compete in a statewide contest for a $10,000 prize. His final event will be held at Cottonwood in August 2024.
