The Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) was launched in an effort to inspire entrepreneurship among Hawaii’s youth. His YEP, led by the Hawai’i Agricultural Foundation, focuses on fostering a culture of innovation, especially in the area of value-added agricultural products, with a particular emphasis on nonperishable items. Providing long-term shelf-stable products is critical to Hawaii’s agricultural sector, and products not only offer scalability and export potential, but also create demand for locally grown and cultivated products. . What sets YEP apart is its practical approach. Unlike many similar programs, YEP isn’t just about concepts. Students are required to start a company and develop a shelf-stable product using locally sourced raw materials. From creating a business plan to connecting with customers, students tackle all aspects of their entrepreneurial journey.
One of the entrepreneurial efforts is YEP participant Island MAC-. These delicious treats are a fusion of local flavors featuring macadamia nut flour, Maui’s Ali’i Kula lavender honey, and Kauai coffee. Island MAC Aaron is not only characterized by its mouth-watering taste, but also by its contribution to the local economy. By purchasing these MAC Aerons, consumers support a network of local businesses, including farmers, beekeepers, and processors, while also supporting student educational efforts.

Products will also be available for purchase at the in-person YEP Marketplace on April 6th at the KCC Farmers Market in Honolulu. He will be joined by student entrepreneurs representing nearly 20 schools from Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii. YEP sells its own products.
