Kennewick, Washington – Police are continuing to investigate the death of a 4-year-old child at the facility. Econo Lodge in Kennewick. One owner of a kindergarten near the motel said he was fed up.
Leslie Hieb is the owner. of Level up preschool. She said she had to install cameras and trespassing signs around the school. She said she witnessed drug use in the area.
She said extra precautions are being taken to keep children at school safe. This problem is affecting her business.
“People who could be my customers drive by and check out the place,” Hieb said. “I think they just quit because of drug use.”
Hieb said he has his students practice drills. She whistles a certain way and they come inside.

“We have partnerships with three other community organizations,” Clem said. “Every Thursday, we go out into the streets to make contact with homeless people and try to provide them with aid and resources. About a quarter of the contacts we make each week are in the area. Thing.”
Clem recommends that business owners sign a trespass permit with KPD. This way, with the owner’s consent, KPD can arrest people who are not supposed to be on the property.
