Syracuse, N.Y. — Marriott Hotels announced the promotion of Melissa Oliver to general manager of the Marriott Syracuse Downtown (formerly Hotel Syracuse), which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in August.
At the same time, the hotel promoted Lindsay Cole-Blanca to director of sales and marketing.
About Oliver
Oliver spent five years at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, where he was promoted to Director of Sales & Marketing, Hotel Manager, Executive Director, and now General Manager.
She will replace former GM John Matthews, who took on a task force role responsible for travel and support to other properties at Crescent Hotels & Resorts (Marriott’s management company), as well as marketing and marketing for Marriott Hotels. & Social Media Manager Caitlin Pacilio told CNYBJ via email. .

About Cole Blanca
Mr. Coleblanca joined Marriott Syracuse Downtown as a pre-opening employee in 2016 and has since served as sales manager and director of catering, as well as a member of the hotel’s executive committee.
