RIVERDALE — Riverdale Road and the surrounding area have long been one of northern Utah’s busiest commercial centers. The corridor has seen an influx of new businesses in recent years, with the addition of some particularly popular restaurants.
Mike Eggett, Riverdale’s community development director, told the Standard Examiner in September 2022 that the area is experiencing “extraordinary growth” in terms of the sheer number of new entrants. Ta.
Looking ahead to 2024, Edgett says things have “calmed down a little bit” but insists continued expansion and evolution is part of the corridor’s profile.
“It’s just such a dynamic area. Every time you think things are slowing down, something new happens.”
In December, Shake Shack popped up for local residents. Construction has been completed on the burger and shake chain’s 4142 Riverdale Road location, and the area’s demand for “fast-casual” cuisine is underlined by street views of the restaurant during the dinner rush, with cars in the Loop drive-through lane. it is clear.
Those living or commuting along Riverdale Road can also expect to see more culinary diversity in the not-too-distant future.
With established locations in Tropic and Huntsville, and another location in Ogden that opened in April 2022 but didn’t do well, idk BBQ is now coming to Riverdale. Construction is currently underway on a new restaurant offering “small-town all-American barbecue” at 1140 W. Riverdale Road in Suite E, a stone’s throw from the recently opened Super Chicks.
The next wave of eateries coming to the area will feature other “unique and interesting” establishments, Eggett said. Chuck E. Cheese is a family entertainment center and pizza restaurant first conceived by Clearfield native and Atari founder Nolan Bushnell in the late 1970s. .
Construction on Chuck E. Cheese is expected to begin in February in the Riverdale Shopping Center area at 4095 Riverdale Road.
Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, located at 4021 Riverdale Road, has been serving sweet dairy products since opening Nov. 9.
But new restaurants aren’t the only thing coming to Riverdale. Other major companies are also being attracted to the area.
The Tesla Riverdale Automotive Center, located at 4581 S. 1500 West, is currently under construction. On the next block, construction has also begun on America First Credit Union’s new administration and operations building at 4624 S. 1500 West.
Thrive Appliance, Ashley Furniture, Empowered Body Works and Bricks & Minifigs are also slated to set up shop on the Strip.
Residents looking forward to updates on the Trader Joe’s location coming to Riverdale someday (there’s plenty of that information posted on social media) should keep it on their wish list for now. Dew. Mr Eggett said he had nothing new to report in this regard at this time.
