New York City Ballet presents world premiere by Tiler Peck and Alexei Ratmansky
The company’s 2024 winter season begins on January 23 with a tribute to Jerome Robbins.

New York City Ballet kicked off its 75th anniversary season with George Balanchine’s Fall All Celebration. The winter season, which begins this month, will celebrate the work of additional choreographers closely associated with the company, including world premiere ballets by NYCB principal dancer Tiler Peck and artist-in-residence Alexei Ratmansky.
Peck’s new ballet is based on Poulenc’s “Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra.” The ballet includes costumes by fashion designer Zac Posen and lighting design by Brandon Sterling Baker. Peck joined New York City Ballet in 2005 and was promoted to soloist in 2006 and principal dancer in 2009. This is the first work produced for the company.The world premiere will be performed with direction by Justin Peck. rotunda and Ratmansky’s Odesa.
Meanwhile, Ratmansky will unveil his seventh work created for the company since becoming artist-in-residence last year. The new ballet is scheduled to include the third movement from Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 and the fourth movement from Mahler’s Symphony No. 5. Costume design was by Moritz Junge, and lighting was by Mark Stanley. Ratmansky’s new work will be presented alongside Robbins’ work.
